Dublin International Film Festival 2023 Sponsorship
Griffith College Dublin are thrilled to announce that we are sponsoring the Dublin International Film Festival 2023.
Running from the 23rd of February to the 4th of March, the festival celebrates the cinematic work of film makers from across the globe from all genres!
Speaking about the Sponsorship, Tanya Doyle, Head of the Creative Arts and Screen Media at Griffith College exclaimed, "The encouragement and support our graduates have received from DIFF is second to none. This festival is an excellent platform to launch our graduates into the international film industry".
Griffith graduates have had the opportunity to showcase their work as part of the First Frame initiative at the Dublin International Film Festival over the years. Graduate Arthur Lopes, BA in Film and TV Production at Griffith College, film titled Libre was shown at DIFF 2022. The documentary is about body image in the Queer community. In 2021, Libre won Best Film at the LGBTQ+ Toronto Film Festival and Best LGBTQ Documentary at Venice Shorts.
Among these incredible achievements, Libre was also selected for the Indie Shorts Award at Canne 2021, alongside the Montreal Independent Film Festival Official Selection.
Another BA in Film and TV Production graduate, Ingrid Machado’s I Exist Because You Are Here short film also featured in DIFF 2022.
Last night, God's Creatures opened DIFF 2023, starring Paul Mescal, Emily Watson and Aisling Franciosi. Griffith lecturer and Dublin International Film Festival Director, Grainne Humpreys, spoke at the launch.
Griffith College's newly launched Creative Arts and Screen Media faculty are delighted to sponsor the festival.
The faculty has eleven courses from Film, Photography, Cinematography, Live TV and Studio Broadcast to VFX and VR. You can view the range of courses here.
