Griffith College Celebrates Big Wins at the SMEDIAs 2025!

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of our talented students at this year’s National Student Media Awards (SMEDIAs), one of the biggest nights of the year for student journalism and media across Ireland.
Our students brought home three major awards, showcasing the creativity, dedication, and professionalism that defines the Griffith College community.
Congratulations to Clara Nagasawa, Louis Knight, and Sofia Savicheva, the editorial team behind Dublin 8 magazine, who took home the award for Small College or Society Publication of the Year.
Dublin 8 is a project developed by Year 2 students from the BA (Hons) in Communications & Media Production, celebrating the stories, culture, and community of the Dublin 8 area. This recognition is a testament to their hard work, vision, and teamwork.
A special shoutout to Bartira da Silva Augelli, a recent graduate from our MA in Journalism & Digital Communications, who won not one but two prestigious awards on the night! Journalism Relating to Health as well as Journalist of the Year - National Media.
Bartira’s powerful and insightful reporting on health issues, combined with her broader work in the Dublin Inquirer, earned her well-deserved recognition in both categories.
We’re thrilled to see our students' work being celebrated on such a national platform. These wins reflect the passion and excellence that runs through every project at Griffith College.
Congratulations to all the winners, we couldn’t be prouder!
