Griffith College Dublin: Catalysts for Innovation in Interior Architecture and Design
Griffith College Advocates for Interior Association’s ECIA Membership at International Assembly
Griffith College Dublin recently played a pivotal role in a significant milestone for Ireland's interior design industry. At the prestigious European Council of Interior Architects (ECIA) General Assembly in Lucerne, our institution was instrumental in supporting the Interior Association's (IA) bid for ECIA membership. Head of Design Faculty, Deidre Doherty, and Programme Director for Interior Architecture, Britt Berentzen, represented Griffith College at this crucial event on September 13-14, 2024. Working alongside a representative from MUT, they provided vital support to the IA in their membership application process.
The ECIA General Assembly, a key platform for advancing the interior architecture profession, saw Interiors Association: President Jackie Carton (former Griffith Graduate) and Vice President Gwen Kenny present to delegates from 18 national organisations. Their presentation, showcasing the IA's progress, was made to an audience representing over 17,000 interior architecture professionals across Europe.
For Griffith College, our involvement in such international forums is more than just participation - it's about shaping the future of interior architecture education. By aligning our curriculum with global industry standards, we ensure our Interior Architecture program equips students with both creative and technical skills, preparing them for successful careers in this dynamic field.
Our commitment to staying at the forefront of global design trends allows us to continually enhance our academic offerings. This not only benefits our current students but also opens up invaluable networking opportunities for both students and faculty alike.
