Griffith Halls of Residence Invests in Modernisation Works

Griffith Halls of Residence Shared Room

Griffith Halls of Residence, on-site accommodation provider at Dublin Main Campus, has upgraded its apartments and added new room types.

Griffith Halls of Residence has undergone significant refurbishment during the Covid-19 pandemic, benefiting from a €1.2 million investment from the college. All 170 apartments have been modernised, painted and refurnished.

The upgraded apartments feature trendy new furniture including a guest sofa bed and modern dining fixtures. Apartments feature a stylish metallic grey colour scheme on bedroom furniture and a relaxing deep blue painted finish in common areas, perfect for students to chill out, study or entertain.

GHR has added new room types to its complement too. Its traditional Shared Twin Rooms are now accompanied by five distinct single room types: Single Room Shared Bathroom, Single Room Private Bathroom, Single Room Ensuite, King Ensuite and King Deluxe. Single Rooms now represent 32% of all rooms, compared to 8% pre-pandemic, a pivot management made to reflect public demand.

The upgrades have already borne fruit, with GHR now at full capacity for the first time since before the start of the pandemic. The residence was awarded ‘Best Student Accommodation’ at the 2021 Education Awards and a Booking.com Traveller Award.

“We’re extremely proud of all the work undertaken during the pandemic. We’re back to full occupancy now and going from strength to strength. We’ve got lots of new ideas in the pipeline too, all aimed at improving our residence to ensure GHR remains one of the most desirable campus residences in Dublin,” commented GHR General Manager Paul Smith.
