Over 1000 Students Registered for Leaving Cert Maths Revision Course
Griffith hosts the free review courses yearly at its campuses in Dublin, Cork and Limerick.
Griffith College welcomed hundreds of Leaving Certificate students to its South Circular Road, Dublin campus this weekend for its annual free maths revision course. It was estimated nearly 300 ordinary level maths students attended the session on Saturday, 23 March, while Sunday the 24th saw 600 learners registered for the workshop. With more than 1300 students registered nationwide at its campuses in Cork and Limerick, it is one of the largest review sessions of its kind.
Dr Tomás Mac Eochagáin, Director of Academic Programmes at Griffith College, presented the course. Notes were provided for as Gaeilge agus as Bearla. Dr Mac Eochagáin has over 25 years of experience teaching mathematics and securing excellent exam results for students, with a PhD focused on Leaving Cert maths.
All sessions from the weekend were recorded and will be made available online to participants until after the examinations in June.
On the day, students arrived between 9.00 and 9.30, and they had two breaks throughout the day. Students brought their own maths equipment such as calculators, pens and paper.
