CAO Change of Mind Process – A Guide for Students

CAO blog header

The CAO Change of Mind process can be a stressful time for many students. The pressure to make the right choice, as well as the uncertainty around the outcome, can be overwhelming. But it doesn't have to be that way. With the right mindset and a proactive approach, you can successfully navigate the Change of Mind process and make the best decision for yourself.

In this blog post, we'll guide you through the CAO Change of Mind process, answer your most common questions, and give you some tips to make the process a little easier!

1. Understanding the CAO Change of Mind process:

The CAO Change of Mind process allows students to change their course choices after submitting their initial application. The Change of Mind facility is available to all CAO applicants, free of charge. You can make as many course changes as you want during this time, provided the course is still open for application and you meet the entry requirements.

The CAO Change of Mind is open until 1st July (17:00). It's important to note that your initial course choices will still be considered unless you change them during this time. Also, any new course choices you add to your application will be considered ahead of those listed earlier.

2. Factors to consider when making changes to your CAO:

It's natural to feel drawn to make many changes during the Change of Mind period, but it's important to keep some factors in mind. Here are three things you should consider when making changes to your CAO:

• Course suitability: Research the courses you are interested in and make sure you understand the entry requirements, course content, and career prospects.

• Your interest in the course: You will study this course for at least three years. So, choosing a course you are passionate about and genuinely interested in is important.

• Future aspirations: When making changes to your CAO, consider your future plans and aspirations. Ask yourself if your chosen course will help you achieve your long-term goals.
