From The LSMD to Screen Stardom: ‘Bad Sisters’ Actor Conor O’Donnell’s Inspiring Path
At The Leinster School of Music & Drama, we take immense pride in nurturing talented individuals who achieve incredible things. One such graduate is Conor O’Donnell, an accomplished actor, advocate, and inspiring role model.
Conor’s acting journey began at just six years old, with the Stage Academy in Newbridge. Recognising his potential early on, his drama teacher, Paula Conlan, encouraged him to pursue LSMD exams. His dedication and passion paid off as he earned First Class Honours across all his exams and was awarded the prestigious President’s Medal for Outstanding Performance by Griffith College!
Today, Conor is known for his role as Michael in the hit Apple TV+ series Bad Sisters. Reflecting on his experience, he shares the joy of working alongside celebrated cast members, including Sharon Horgan, who surprised him with a signed Ireland rugby jersey for his 18th birthday!
Beyond his acting career, Conor continues to make a mark. He is pursuing a Certificate in Arts, Science, and Inclusive Practice at Trinity College Dublin and serves as Treasurer for the National Advisory Council of Down Syndrome Ireland. A dedicated volunteer at Barretstown and a passionate advocate for inclusivity, Conor balances his commitments with grace and enthusiasm.
“Conor is a wonderful young man who is achieving so much,” says Nichola Aylward, CEO of Down Syndrome Ireland. His journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring actors, students, and advocates alike.
The LSMD is honoured to have been a part of Conor’s story and can’t wait to see what the future holds for him. As Conor says, “I’m living my best life right now!”
