Griffith College Dublin Proudly Sponsors SMEDIAS 2025

Griffith College Dublin is delighted to announce that we are one of the sponsors for the National Student Media Awards 2025, taking place at the historic Mansion House in Dublin on Wednesday, 9th April! 

The SMEDIAS  were created to celebrate and formally recognise the talent of third-level students emerging in journalism, broadcasting and digital media. The Awards are open to students from every college across Ireland and are highly respected by media industry leaders. Dubbed 'the Oscars for students', the Awards have been presented by some of the biggest names in Irish media, such as Rozanna Purcell, Dave Fanning, and Griffith College graduate Laura Whitmore. 

This year's National Student Media Awards hold special significance, as 2025 marks the 25th anniversary of Ireland’s longest-running student awards event. 

Last year's event was a fantastic occasion which saw Griffith College's Bartira Augelli of the MA in Journalism & Digital Communications programme claim awards in both categories she was nominated for (Journalist of the Year – National Media, and the EPA Award for Journalism Relating to the Environment).
