Creative Studio Project 1 (Taster in Interior Design)
Course Overview
Explore skills in interior design by experimenting with art and design techniques and interdisciplinary approaches.
This course provides graduates and experienced built environment professionals with an additional skill set centered on residential projects. Learners of the course produce floor plans, sections, experiment with concept development and create mood and sample boards.
This course focuses on the development of professional skills; while it does not sit on the national framework, the module is drawn from Griffith College’s suite of QQI-validated degree programmes.

Course Details
This course is one single module from the Certificate in Art and Design course.
This module enables learners to apply their learning to small residential interior design projects.
Learners develop and design two projects, which equips them with creative design solution skills by formulating a problem-solving approach and presentation skills to successfully represent their vision.

- Bungalow Interior Design Project.

English Language

Applicants under 23 years of age:
Old Leaving Cert (Pre 2017)
Two Honours Level, Grade C3s or above and four Ordinary Level D3s (subjects to include maths and a language, English, Irish or another language) or equivalent exam taken.
New Leaving Cert
2 H5 and 4 O6/H7 grades, to include maths and a language (English, Irish or another language).
Applicants above 23 years of age (Mature students):
If you are 23 years or over from the 1st January of this year, you can apply for this course directly using the College’s online application form.

What further study can I do?
Upon completion of the Interior Design Taster Course (Creative Studio Project 1), learners can continue their studies at Griffith College Dublin by applying for our Diploma in Interior Design or BA in Interior Design, where they are exempt from the Creative Studio Project 1 module.
