Why Study Leadership Skills at Griffith College?

This Professional Diploma in Leadership Skills short course is available on a part-time basis. It provides an interactive and in-depth exploration of the leadership role within an organisation. It enables students to appreciate what employees expect and want from their leader so that they can practice those skills and behaviours, which ensures that they will achieve results effectively through building successful relationships with their employees. It highlights the skills a leader needs in order to successfully juggle the demands of the team, task and the individual.

During the course, students become aware of their own behavioural style and the impact it may have on their peers, employees, clients and their own managers. They are encouraged to build on their strengths and put together action plans for addressing their areas of development. They explore nature, nurture and how it relates to leadership as they develop their own path to becoming a skilled and effective leader.

  • Learn to build trust, inspire ownership and develop others.
  • Effectively use important coaching techniques in order to be successful at achieving results.
  • Analyse your own behaviour to become a more empathetic leader, strengthening relationships within the team.
  • Develop your communication style and how to effectively support performance discussions.
  • Identify the importance of problem solving and how it builds effective decision making.
  • Develop an action plan that you can implement within your organisation.
