Griffith College Templeogue have been crowned Hula Hoops National Cup Champions 2020.

Saturday evening's game was broadcast live on TG4 and played in front of a sold-out crowd at Tallaght's National Basketball Arena. Griffith College Templeogue defeated DBS Eanna by 10 points with a final score of 78-68.

Griffith College Student Union manager Paul Walsh said fo the game, "the team led from the very start and were never behind, at one stage opening up a 19 point lead. In the final quarter, DBS Eanna threw everything they had at the guys managing to pull it back to a 2 point game with a minute and a half left on the clock. The tight nervy finish that was anticipated didn’t materialize however as the guys held their nerve and once again increased their lead to win by 10."

Congratulations to the whole team, especially Griffith College students Oisin Kerlin (Accounting & Finance), Xavier Arriaga (Hospitality Management) Darren Townes (MA Journalism and Media Communications), and Vladimir Tokishin (EAP), as well as the SU's Jason Killeen.
