Biography

John serves as the Head of IT at Griffith College and is a dedicated member of the college's management board. His professional journey spans over 20 years, with experience in diverse IT and senior management roles, primarily in the spheres of education, software, and strategy.

As Griffith’s Head of IT, John oversees all technology operations, analysing business requirements, and devising and implementing IT strategies, policies and budgets.

In his management board role at Griffith College, John's expertise extends beyond the traditional realms of IT. He is keenly interested in understanding and improving the employee experience, implementing HR policies that align with the college's ethos, and driving broad digital initiatives that enhance the institution's reach and reputation through the adoption of innovative solutions that cater to both the college's technological and human resources needs.

John is the chair of the college's IT Committee and sits on various committees including the Academic & Professional Council (APC). He is a member of the college's data protection group.

He is also a co-founder of GMCS Ltd. a software company developing cutting edge solutions for the 3rd level sector. John is an advisor for MKOD, a member of the Irish Computer Society and the Association of Data Protection Officers.
