Biography
Becks Butler (he/they) is an innovation consultant and educator working to empower organisations to adopt methodologies and mindsets that ignite innovation, tackle complex problems, and drive meaningful change. Becks works as Innovation, Solutions and Transformation Specialist at Griffith College, where they co-lead strategic digital initiatives and champion institutional transformation through inclusive, design-led approaches.
As Chair of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Committee and Athena SWAN Project Lead, Becks actively promotes inclusive practices and equitable policy development that enhance both staff and student experiences.
Becks lectures in executive and postgraduate education at UCD Smurfit Graduate Business School, Griffith College, and the UCD Innovation Academy, delivering content on user-centric innovation, problem-solving, and transformational leadership.
As Partner and Co-Founder at New Wave Innovation Agency, Becks’ clients include Aer Lingus, Kerry Group, Cosentino, and DPP Skillnet. Their professional background spans agriculture, entrepreneurship, finance, education, and the arts. Becks previously served as finance lead at Claas Ltd before founding Uisce Bia, a hydroponic agritech venture that won Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur. Their creative practice as a photographer has been widely exhibited and acquired by collections including the Royal Irish Academy and the OPW.
