Biography

Rachel is head of the Journalism Faculty at Griffith College Cork. An accomplished journalist, she has worked with the Sunday Tribune, RTE Radio 1, BBC Radio 4, the Sunday Business Post, Irish Theatre Magazine, the Independent and RTE Lyric FM.

Her essays and reportage have been published in literary journals including n+1 and The Dublin Review. Her essay, A New Wilderness at the Maze, which documented the destruction and the ruins of the Maze prison in Northern Ireland, won the inaugural Documentary Essay Prize (2013) at the Centre for Documentary Studies, Duke University, NC. In 2017, Rachel was shortlisted for the Notting Hill Essay Prize.
