Griffith College Alumni Attend Networking Breakfast
Griffith College welcomed alumni from across the country to the Hilton Hotel, Charlemont Place, where it held its first Alumni Networking Breakfast.
The networking event welcomed guest speakers including Paul Rellis, CEO of Viatel Europe, and Managing Director of Conker, Orla Veale. Rellis and Veale were joined by sports broadcaster David McIntyre and Catherine Bodley, Director of Sales at O’Callaghan Collection.
Guest Speakers Lightning Talks
Each speaker discussed what they learnt from their Griffith experience, as well as the encounters that helped shape them in finding their success. A consistent theme across the speakers was the importance to make connections which can lead to doors being opened.
Organiser and Alumni Officer, Suzanna Doyle said, “This event marks almost two years of outreach to Griffith College’s alumni from around the world. The event today is a real reminder that our networks, whether of our former college, or of friends, family, colleagues, and so on, are there to support us and enrich us.”
The lightning talks were followed by round table discussions with the speakers, where alumni had the opportunity to speak with other graduates and career support. This included Griffith's career's officer and a representative from a recruitment company.
Spot Prizes
The event drew to a close with a raffle, the prize of the day being a Waterford Castle B&B gift voucher.
On a final note, Griffith College President Diarmuid Hegarty gave a special thanks to all involved and attendees.
