Griffith College and Donore Credit Union Award a Student the Brendan Lynch Scholarship 2021
Griffith College and Donore Credit Union have awarded Morgan Haydon, a second-year BA (Hons) Fashion student, the annual Brendan Lynch Scholarship worth €3,000. The scholarship, in honour of the former Lord Mayor of Dublin and Honorary Director of Donore Credit Union, has been running for four years.
To receive the award, Morgan had to be enrolled on a course at Griffith College, be/become a member of Donore Credit Union and submit an application form, writing a personal statement outlining how the scholarship would help him pursue his degree and describing his understanding of the role of a Credit Union and its impact on the local community.
On accepting the award Morgan said, “Being awarded the Brendan Lynch Scholarship was a complete shock to me and I feel honoured that I was chosen among the many applicants for this prestigious scholarship. It honestly makes my 2nd year in Fashion Design even better, as it allows me to focus on my academic pursuits both inside and outside Griffith College, as I continue into the field of art and design, without the worry of fees. This scholarship will help fund my collections during the coming years at Griffith and I am excited to see what I can produce with this financial aid. I am thoroughly grateful to win this scholarship and I am thankful to both Griffith College and Donore Credit Union for selecting me”.
