Griffith Media Students Attend Claire Byrne Live in RTÉ TV Studios
Any student knows there's a whole lot you can learn in the classroom, but sometimes there's no substitute for getting out into the real world and seeing how the professionals do it.
Three students from the BA (Hons) Journalism & Visual Media course got to see journalism in action at the filming of Claire Byrne Live on 1 October. Ronan Gargan, Jordan Charnley and William Swales were in the audience as Byrne presented a show dealing with a wide range of topics, including puppy farming, the ongoing presidential campaigns and a powerful film from Shay Healy. The students also got to meet Byrne, who has been hosting her own show since 2015.
All first-year BA Journalism students at Griffith get to join the audience for a show at Claire Byrne Live, where they have the opportunity to gain invaluable experience - and maybe get some inspiration for their own futures in journalism.
