Innovating Learning: Empowering Learners for the Future
Griffith College held a special teaching and learning symposium this morning to address the evolving educational landscape, exploring strategies to cultivate adaptable, and future-ready learners. By engaging with innovative teaching and learning practices, participants gained insights into fostering student engagement, enhancing learning outcomes, and equipping learners with critical skills for success in a rapidly changing world.
The event featured expert keynote speakers and breakout sessions that delved into design thinking, learner-centred approaches, and assessment practices that emphasize creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking over traditional methods. Speakers included Becks Butler, Nico Lorenzutti, Alice Luby, Lisa Donaldson, Jonathan Murphy, and Jennifer Clarke.
The event is part of GC50, a series of initiatives to mark Griffith College’s fiftieth anniversary in 2024. Founded in 1974 by Professor Diarmuid Hegarty, Griffith College enjoys a national and international reputation for student success. Many alumni have gone on to distinguished careers in fields as diverse as accountancy, business, computing, design, engineering, law, media and politics.
