'Local Legacies Remembered', Lecturer Eva Kelly opens exhibition celebrating significant women in Irish History
We are delighted to announce that our Graphic Design & Illustration Lecturer, Eva Kelly, who was selected as Artist in Residence for Decade of Centenaries with South Dublin County Council, will be opening an exhibition this Thursday in Ballyroan Library. Her project titled 'Local Legacies Remembered' will look at political as well as cultural figures and what their influence was in the area. Eva Kelly has been illustrating women in Irish history, working alongside historian Liz Gells throughout the duration of her residency. The Artist in Residence for Decade of Centenaries with South Dublin County Council is a wonderful program that allows artists to develop work that shares the stories and history from 1921 – 1923 nationally and internationally. This project is supported by the Decade of Centenaries Programme from the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
This exhibition will be launching on March 3rd 2022 at Ballyroan Library at 6:30 pm. It will be on show there for 3 weeks, from then it will be touring the South Dublin Library circuit for the rest of the year. For more information on Eva's work, head to: www.evakellyillustration.com
