Griffith College Student First Indian Person to Perform on Raidio na Life
Indian musician and Griffith College student Shubham will perform on Radio na Life, 106.4 on Sunday 10 February from 4pm-5pm. Shubham will be the first Indian person to perform on 106.4 and will sing Bollywood songs, including:
- Gulabi Aankhen
- O mere Dil k chain
- O o jane jana
We undertake a quick Q&A with Masters in Computing Science student, Shubham.
Tell us a little bit about yourself
I have completed my Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and currently I am pursuing my Master’s Degree from Griffith College, Dublin in Computing Science. About my Music Career, I have participated in many music competitions since childhood and I have won medals and certificates for playing various musical instruments in school. I have won medals (Gold and Silver) in ‘Vidharbha level’ (A Region of Maharashtra State, India) singing competition.
One of the most important achievement of my life has been getting selected for the A. R. Rahman (Oscar winning Indian musician) College of Music which is the best college in Asia for pursuing music as a career.
Walk us through your Radio na Life experience
So on Saturday 2nd February, Radio Station 106.4 interviewed me. They Officially recorded me singing three Bollywood songs namely:
1. Gulabi Aankhen
2. O mere Dil k chain
3. O o jane jana
After the recording the radio station staff also stated that I am the first Indian to do so. So it is a proud moment for me. Yes, it was indeed an overwhelming experience for me as the radio station people has recognised and appreciated my talent with the songs of my genre. I really feel proud that I am able to promote and introduce such Bollywood type music to all Irish people through radio
Are you enjoying your course?
Masters of Computing is a technical course which mainly focuses on upgrading the programming skills, also building android and cloud applications, researching deep into a topic and study about building search engines.
The level of studies at Griffith college is helping me to upgrade my computer programming skills and also makes me confident and bold in way to speak with people and representing my thoughts and presentation properly in front of many individuals.
