Outreach Drama Programme Students Achieve Exam Success
The LSMD's Outreach programme prepares students for Drama exams.
On Saturday 25th May, The Leinster School of Music and Drama were delighted to see students from Loreto College, Crumlin participate in their Grade 3 group drama exam as part of their TY programme.
Programme Director for Drama at the Leinster School of Music and Drama Suzanne Binley has been working with the students over the last ten weeks to prepare them for the exams as part of a new Outreach Drama Programme for local schools. Under Suzanne’s directorship, and with the help of Loreto College, Crumlin’s Transition Year Drama Co-Ordinator, Fiona Kelly, each group scripted two pieces based on topics they considered important, which they performed in front of an LSMD examiner.
Binley said, “We were delighted to see the students of Loreto College, Crumlin participate in these exams. Projects like this are important for students in not only providing an arena for creative thinking and self-reflection, but also in terms of improving self-confidence. All of the students did themselves proud and it’s great to see our outreach programme having such a positive impact already – let’s hope it’s a sign of more to come!”
The Outreach Drama Programme for Schools aims to provide support, accessible tuition and training to the wider community and builds on the high level of talent already present at Loreto College, Crumlin.
