Make 2018 your best year yet!
Just before Christmas, we posted on “New Years Resolutions Worth Keeping” about investing in your ongoing education in the New Year. Now that it's 2018, it’s time to kick-start this resolution in the best way possible.
Here are some steps to take in order to make the best course choice for you:
Speak to a Career Guidance Counsellor
Speaking to a Career Guidance Counsellor is essential to your course selection process. He or she will inform you of the best options available; whether you’re looking to further your knowledge in your chosen profession with a diploma or a Master's degree, or looking to change professions altogether and start a new BA degree, the guidance they can provide will be extremely valuable. As well as course knowledge, the counsellor has access to reports and information on the skills employers are looking for, which will give you a clearer indication of the skill set you will need.
Griffith College offers to drop-in career clinics and one on one appointments with a career counsellor. Find out more here.
College Open Days
It’s always a good idea to check out the facilities on offer, as well as meet lecturers face-to-face to gain more of an insight into the potential workload you would be looking at, and who you will be dealing with. Open days also give you the opportunity to meet other potential students, which will give you an indication of, the career backgrounds other people are coming from.
Griffith College has a number of open days scheduled throughout the year check out this link for details on the upcoming days:
