A Master Procrastinator - TED Talk
As I was sitting in my classes this week I noticed the complete lack of people. I would say it was well over half, and as I asked around people told me that an assignment was due. My heart reached out for them because I remembered two weeks prior when I had things due and it was an all-nighter here and three coffees there. I and everyone else in class are what you would call procrastinators.
This world is filled with procrastinators, and one could argue that the entire world procrastinates. This is something that can be explained a little easier thanks to the voice of Tim Urban, a man who even put off his own TED Talk about procrastination from six months of time down to two months before he had to get on stage.
Tim is this month’s Ted Talk pick for a lot of reasons. He struck a chord with me on a personal level, someone who has always felt the sting of a deadline coming and wished I could be rational enough to get it done. He was also able to explain what I’ve been feeling for the majority of my life when I binge watch YouTube and feel the responsibility loom over me yet continue to do it. What’s more, I am sure plenty of you have felt this too and have felt these struggles even throughout your own lives.
Tim is here to help you understand, and I gotta say his graphics are amazing for the time he was given. You can see those images and his entire talk here.
