Biography

Kristin obtained her doctorate in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, in 2017. She has recently completed her MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the Irish College of Humanities and Applied Sciences (ICHAS) in Limerick.  Kristin is a Graduate Member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) as well as a pre-accredited member of the Association for Professional Counsellors and Psychotherapists (APCP) in Ireland. Kristin has also completed a postgraduate diploma in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (City Colleges, Dublin) and relevant certificates in Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Practice, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Ecotherapy. She works as a Psychotherapist with MyMind: Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing.

Research Interests

Kristin has 6 years of experience working in the Workplace Wellbeing sector, providing psychoeducation to corporate professionals and leadership teams. In particular, she has worked with Zevo Health and Concentrix Limited to design and deliver tailored programs to support employees' mental well-being, including Mental Health Championship and Psychological First Aid for teams that are at high risk for prolonged periods of distress. She is currently partnering with the University of Pennsylvania to understand the impact of Primal World Beliefs on social media content moderators and employees experiencing secondary stress. Kristin has lectured with St. Nicholas Montessori College full-time (2022 - 2024) and in the past, she has lectured for the University of Canterbury (2013-2017) and with the Irish Colleges of Humanities and Applied Studies on both their Psychology and Psychotherapy programmes since 2020 part-time.
