Spotlight on Success: Lorraine Sherry, RTE Camera Operator
Lorraine Sherry is an award-winning photographer who has worked at RTÉ for over 25 years as a Rostrum Camera Operator. In 2003, Lorraine achieved first place in the City & Guilds Practical Photography Challenge.
Since completing her studies at Griffith College, Lorraine has used her creative skills in a range of interesting areas. She initially trained with Barry Moore of Professional Photographic Portrait Studio, Photogenic. She went on to successfully run her own award-winning wedding photography business for over six years and also joined The Irish Professional Photographers & Videographers Association (IPPA), securing many licenses and accolades along the way.
As part of her current role, Lorraine manages a unique and niche studio for motion control filming within RTÉ. She works to produce and film material for various departments with a host of documentaries such as the documentary unit, Irish languages and Nationwide.
In addition, Lorraine has had several solo exhibitions as a painter, with a particular interest in painting in oils with a focus on still life and Plein Air landscapes.
