The Leinster School of Music & Drama Excellence Awards was first introduced in 2004 by Head of Faculty, Karen Casey, to present a national competition for students taking LSMD graded examinations in both Music and Drama. 

Examiners nominate students who show excellence in performing music or drama pieces. These students will then be invited to take part in the callbacks.

• The overall prize for Music will include a prize of €300 and The LSMD Perpetual Silver Cup.
• The overall prize for Drama will include a prize of €300 and the LSMD Perpetual Silver Cup.
• Finalists/Runner-up candidates will receive a prize of €100 each and a silver medal.

Procedure for Nominated Candidates

Teachers will be informed of any nominations of their students in a letter that will be included with student results. The letter will include all of the information needed for submission of entries.
